I think Cas is still hinging on Dean’s statement, that this looks like the first 5 minutes to a porno and is intrigued by that…lol. And he doesn’t even register any shock or surprise or discomfort that it is a gay couple and not a hetero one. Therefore, we can infer that Cas truly is “indifferent to sexual orientation.” I think this means that Castiel, may in fact, be considered pansexual (and/or demisexual). Dean is just stunned but intrigued. I mean, look at the way Dean’s lips move, his eyebrows go up with interest and surprise and his hand movement displays a sort of “well then… okay..”

Dean’s whole body expression here does not show any kind of disgust. He doesn’t seem uncomfortable with this display of two men falling in love. He does not show disturbance in his face at all. He’s not reacting in a way that could even be construed as such. The look on his face is one of pure realization and intrigue.

And though we cannot read Dean’s mind here, we can tell that something about what he is seeing is definitely placing an idea in his brain. An idea that he had never before considered. To me, it looks as though Dean may be having an epiphany. That you can be gay or bisexual and still be a “manly” gruff man. And Dean is not only witnessing the complete shattering of queer stereotyping here. He is witnessing two men be deemed as soul-mates by Heaven itself! This experience is pure evidence and fact to Dean that being queer is not wrong, not sinful and that Heaven, God himself, does not find homosexuality to be unholy in any way. Castiel shows absolutely no aversion to this notion of gay soul-mates. Castiel is not even deflected by these circumstances in any way:

It is completely normal to him, which Dean also witnesses. Homosexuality does not bother Cas or make him uncomfortable, hell, the way Dean see Cas react tells him that Cas may not even register sexuality. This scene is so important because Dean learned here that you can in fact, fall in love with someone of the same gender and it is not an abomination. And that even men who seem the most heterosexual can in fact fall in love with someone of the same gender and it is okay. It is love. And it is perfectly acceptable by heaven and God. And if it is acceptable by heaven and God, then maybe he can finally be more open-minded about his own sexuality and begin to stop suppressing himself.
